
SUMMER IS IN FULL BLOOM AT CHRISTOPHER HOUSE
We have added many out door features to our home. We have added a water feature with a lovely water fall and planted several tree rings, and hanging baskets with brightly colored flowers to brighten your day as you enter our home to visit your loved one. Please take time to smell the flower and enjoy the soothing sounds of our waterfall.
FLYING IN THE LIBERTY BELLE B17
Bob Holmes an elder at Christopher House had a wonderful opportunity given to him by Jeremy Bloom and his Wish of a Lifetime Foundation. Mr. Holmes a WWII veteran was given the wonderful experience of flying in a Liberty Belle B17 plane out of Colorado Springs in June. Bob stated “It was a great experience and a lot of fun something I can talk about for a long time”. A Big Thank You Jeremy Bloom and his foundation for the opportunity and great experience.

Jeremy Bloom kicks off National Nursing Home Week at Christopher House--Olympic Gold-Medal Skier Jeremy Bloom paid a visit to Christopher House on Monday, May 10, 2010. Jeremy was at Christopher House to grant a wish to Mary Silva through his Wish of a Lifetime Foundation. Mary wanted to meet a star and attend a Rockies baseball game. Jeremy presented Mary with club level suite tickets to Monday's game, a baseball autographed by Todd Helton, a Troy Tulowitski jersey and Rockies baseball cap--Watch the Video

EASTER EGG HUNT AT CHRISTOPHER HOUSE
In preparation for our first annual Easter egg hunt, a group of our elders filled eggs full of candy. Our elders enjoyed helping out, and especially enjoyed all the children that arrived to participate in the hunt.

Senior Day at the Capital
On Wednesday, February 24th, Christopher House residents took a trip to the Capitol for the annual Senior Day at the Capitol. This event, sponsored by the Colorado Senior Lobby, the Colorado Commission on Aging, the Older Americans Coalition and Senior Resources,was an opportunity for seniors to learn more about current legislation. The residents at Christopher House had an opportunity to meet some legislators and elected officials and listen to them discuss issues important to Colorado seniors.
Junior Volunteer
The elders and staff at Christopher House recently celebrated the one year anniversary of one of their Junior Volunteers. Lyndsay has been coming to Christopher House every Tuesday afternoon for a year! The elders lover when Lyndsay comes. Lyndsay plays games and does crafts with the elders. Christopher House is so lucky to have such as dedicated volunteer.

Welcome to Carmen Taylor
Please help us welcome Carmen Taylor as the new Director of Nursing to Christopher House. Carmen has been working at Christopher House for two years most recently as the weekend supervisor. As a Registered Nurse, she has had a variety of experiences including a nursing teaching background, but she quickly discovered her passion was in caring for the elders. Carmen looks forward to talking with everyone so feel free to contact her with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.
Christopher House participates on the Fall Prevention Panel at Wheat Ridge Senior Center
Carmen Taylor, Director of Nursing at Christopher House joined a panel of experts on January 12, 2010 to teach some of the Wheat Ridge community seniors on fall prevention and learning about the prevalence and consequences of falls among older adults along with giving them the chance to gather information on fall prevention strategies and community resources
Residents and Family Members celebrate with a Holiday Dinner
On the evening of Thursday, December 17, 2009, Christopher House elders, family members and guests gathered together for a holiday dinner. It was a wonderful meal and an opportunity for everyone to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate the holiday’s together.




New Shower Room on Golden Age We recently transformed our shower room on Golden Age into a beautiful bathing suite. Our Elders helped pick the colors and are really enjoying the new shower!
