4TH OF JULY PARADE

Our residents had a wonderful time at the 4th of July parade.

PICNIC IN THE PARK

The Staff and Residents on Homestead, which is our Secure Memory Care Neighborhood, took a trip to a nearby park to have a picnic in the park and feed the ducks. This was a big event for Homestead. Everyone had a wonderful time and the trip was a big success.

TRIP TO WILD LIFE SANCTUARY

A group of residents went to the Wild Life Sanctuary to see the wild animals. This was one of the neatest places I have been too. I think it is so wonderful what they are doing to help the animals. - Marty

KEEPING THE TOMATOES GROWING

Tony is our care taker for the tomatoes. He is able to tell us if the tomatoes need more water or if they are getting too much. He comes out daily to check and see how the tomatoes are doing. He will also let us know what weeds we need to pull around fountain and he likes to joke with everyone.

STATE SENATOR, SCOTT RENFROE VISITS FAIRACRES

Stop by and meet Kunje our newest family member to Fairacres. She belongs to Kathy Mekelburg, Administrator.  Kunge is 11 weeks old and is Shi Tzu Poodle mix. All the staff pitched in to get Kathy a puppy as a surprise after the sudden loss of her other puppy.

FAIRACRES CELEBRATES NATIONAL NURSING HOME WEEK

National Nursing Home Week this year was a big success. Monday’s theme was the 1930’s, Tuesday was the 1940’s, Wednesday was the 1950’s, Thursday was the 1960’s, and Friday was the 1970’s. All the residents and staff dressed up each day according to the decade. We had a big parade, tie dyed shirts, built sand castles, and many other fun activities throughout the week.

COOKIE BAKING

The residents on our Memory care neighborhood baked cookies for the residents and staff. They were a big hit and everyone wants them to bake cookies every week now. The residents worked together and had a good time getting flour everywhere.

The new state–of–the–art Penner Mfg. bathtub opens from the side for easy entry and has a 32–inch TV screen built into the maple cabinetry. The spa room also has beautiful décor, towel warmers, soft music and lighting and is kept at a warm, comfortable temperature.
