This is a photo of the dining room in the “Cottage” - our Alzheimer’s unit. The Cottage has enhanced staffing and features many events throughout the day. It has its own small kitchen where the Elders can enjoy baking and cooking delicious snacks. Dining is a treat at the main Holly facility as well. Breakfast is served from 5:30 -11:00 a.m., so our elders can get up anytime they wish and have a hot breakfast cooked to order. Lunch features a hot buffet and a salad bar, and we offer a restaurant-style menu from 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Our Elders arrange and decorate their rooms with personal belongings to help them feel at home. Holly has two dogs, a cat, and many birds that bring us joy every day. We have a beautiful backyard with gardens and flowers and have recently remodeled and replaced the old nurse’s station with a new living room. We also have installed a faux-hardwood floor in our dining room and re-carpeted our lobby and hallways.
Our Elders go on a week-long “vacation” each summer. One of their vacation days was spent fishing at Lake Hasty. They didn’t catch any fish but they sure had a great time trying! Other special events include ladies and men’s lunch out twice a month, casino night, and restaurant night.
A daily treat for our Elders is “pampering” time each morning. Pampering includes getting their hair fixed, nails manicured, a massage, or a relaxing foot-soak. We have a loyal and dedicated staff who are well-trained and enthusiastic about their work. Many of our employees have worked here for over ten years and our administrator, who lives in Holly, is a nine-year veteran of the facility.
