Mother’s Day. May 11th 08, BBQ 11:00am-1:00pm The team at Julia Temple Center would like to thank and honor the mothers in our community for their hard work and devotion to their children. If an award were to be given for the Best Mother Ever, millions of women would be recognized because each mother excels in her own way. Each mother here at JTC will get a corsage and we will be taking the family portraits.

Nursing Home Week. May 12th through 16th Theme: Wonders of the World There will be festivities going on all through the week here at JTC in celebration of Nursing Home Week. Please come and join us whenever you can.

Spring Spruce–Up. May 24th, Saturday 9:00am – 1:00pm. Please join us in cleaning up the yard and planting new flowers while we enjoy a BBQ lunch. If you like, you are also welcome to donate 6–packs of Annuals. We are hoping to get the help from the Arapahoe Co. Master gardeners and the Boy Scouts to add more beds and plants. We are also inviting families and staff to adopt a flower bed and make it look the best for the rest of the summer. Your responsibilities will include watering, weeding and taking care of your flowers.

Family Support Group. Last Tuesday of every month at 2:30 pm. Come and join us, it is a good time to support and encourage each other

Garden Committee. Our Social Worker, Cindy Wildfong, has just completed the Master Gardener program with the county extension office as a certificate student. Therefore, there are lots of ideas and excitement around the garden this year. Cindy wants to build a Garden Committee composed of family members, residents and staff who are eager to plan and provide input on how the garden should look and be maintained. She will be meeting with the committee on May 14th at 2:30pm. This is open to all, so if you are interested please call her at 303–761–0075. Happy greening of the landscapes to all!

Our Crew’s Newest Star. We’d like to introduce the newest member of our crew here at Julia Temple Center. Carla Sieczkowski is our new activities director and she is already hard at work keeping our community running smoothly. Growing up with her grandparents, she has always had a strong passion for the senior population. Carla also enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking and spending time with her golden retriever, Lucy. Carla graduated from Michigan State University in 2005 and moved to Colorado shortly thereafter. Carla is eager to meet all of you, so please stop by to introduce yourselves. Be sure to bring along any ideas or suggestions you have for new services or upcoming activities. All of us look forward to seeing you.

Randy McNees is using his love of Culture Change in a new role. He is working as an evening nurse on Columbine. Staff and elders love him in his new position and he is very happy.
